Welcome to Pilot to Pilot. I'm pretty excited to begin discussing aviation issues with pilots and those interested in flying. Topics will be selected and researched as often as possible. My goal is to have a new article once a week.
If you have a request post it and I will begin researching the issue. A great deal of my research comes from individuals whom I trust. In the flying business you learn to take the phrase "I'd trust them with my life" quite seriously. I have found that it is natural for students to avoid seeking out individuals as mentors.
We should be correcting this idea as much as possible. We should be both seeking mentors and seeking opportunities to be a mentor. So it is with great respect that I mention the passing of Dr. Homer Ellis. A man who has been an icon to aviation for the majority of his life. Dr. Ellis passed just a few days ago and will be greatly missed. His passion and respect for flying will forever be remembered and passed on.
